Working as an A&R and Evaluating Talent with Richard Griffiths

In A&R, not everyone works in the same capacity. Some are better at spotting talent, while others are more capable developing that talent. Often, two different A&R personnel will partner up to bring both separate talents together for one artist. Richard Griffiths, who reps One Direction and is a partner of Modest! Management, used to run many Record Labels and worked prominently in A&R. His experience taught him that he was better at spotting talent, than working hand-in-hand in the studio to help develop the record.
