Cara Lewis, Eminem, & Rihanna go to CAA..Kanye Stays with WME

Influential music agent Cara Lewis has landed at Creative Artists Agency, where she will join Rob Light's team. Lewis will continue to be based in New York.

Lewis, left William Morris Endeavor last month after a 23-year stint, where she rose to the position of Senior Vice President. While at WME, Lewis worked with some of the top names in Hip-Hop, including Eminem, Kanye West, 50 Cent and Rihanna among numerous others.

"Cara has built a remarkable career cultivating the careers of some of the most acclaimed artists in music today," said Rob Light, CAA’s head of music and managing partner. "Her expertise of the urban market, ability to innovate, and keen eye for talent will be great assets to our continued growth."

 According to the Hollywood Reporter, most of Lewis' artists will make the transition with her, including Eminem. However, THR reported that Kanye will not be making the jump and will remain at William Morris.

2010 MTV Video Music Awards Winners

2010 was a year of competition in the music industry, but in the end only 1 artist could take each trophy... starting with Lady Gaga, who received the most Moonmen for the night, with Bad Romance earning the best in Dance Video, Female Vid, Pop Video, Choreography, Editing, Direction and the biggest award of the night: Music Video of the Year. Plus, her work with Beyonce on Telephone won for collaboration. Another big VMA category is Best New Artist, and this year, the vid for Baby helped Justin Bieber take home the award. Eminem got a few trophies including Best Male Video and Best Hip-Hop vid for Not Afraid. The Black Keys and Tighten Up scored Breakthrough Video, Best Rock went to 30 Seconds to Mars' Kings and Queens, Muse's Uprising won for Best SFX, Best Art Direction went to Florence + the Machine's Dog Days are Over while Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' Empire State of Mind got a Moonman. So there you have it: the 2010 MTV VMA winners list.

Eminem Sales Over 700,000 First Week

Eminem's "Recovery" debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with a massive 741,000 copies sold in its first week according to Nielsen SoundScan.

"Recovery" is the hip-hop king's sixth straight No. 1 debut -- and sixth overall chart-topper. His only set to miss the top spot was his "Slim Shady LP" debut, which bowed and peaked at No. 2 in 1999. Among hip-hop acts with the most No. 1 albums, only Jay-Z has earned more, with 11.

"Recovery's" debut week sales surpasses the first week of Eminem's last set, "Relapse," which began at No. 1 in 2009 with 608,000. It also beats the opening of 2005's "Curtain Call: The Hits" which entered at No. 1 with 441,000 in 2005.

Eminem's new album also wows digitally, as downloads made up 255,000 of its first week.
